We live in a modern world where everything is falling apart. We live in a society where we witness constant and everyday attacks on core values and principles. On our ideals.
When everyone is looking for the opportunity to attack another based on political correctness or their beliefs I will not give them any more ground for interaction!
That's why I don't post my achievements and especially "teacher moments" or (my) students online. Why should I? To brag? To show others that I am proud of them? To showcase all the gifts I have received from them and their parents (and I can reassure you I have received many)? To show off all the drawings they have given me? (which I also have many of)
Is this what will make me a good teacher? Will online social media posting draw me into the category of exemplar teachers?
Posting my whole (teacher) life on the social media? Who gives a $h!T about what I do as a teacher? I don't give a fu
If you have something innovative to show then go on! Show us your contribution but if not... then we absolutely don't care about your work.
Additionally, there are predator eyes and pedophiles online. And many criminals and hackers. Why should I endanger the children and their parents by posting their faces online?
It's just like Albert Einstein stated:
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
Ponder on that a little bit for a start.
